About Us
In 2015, the Alaska Healthcare Providers Toolkit was launched as a joint project of the UAA Center for Human Development Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) and the WITH Foundation (formerly the Special Hope Foundation).
The information shared is based on the Alaska Needs Assessment that the Health and Disability Program conducted with the Center for Human Development (2014) and the following literature reviews:
Provider Toolkit Lit Review by Maureen O'Keefe (2014-15 LEND Fellow)
Healthcare and Self Advocacy Lit Review by Melvin Nobles (2015-16 LEND Fellow)
This is a multi-year project with the initial effort being the building of the Alaska Provider's Toolkit website concentrated on the Anchorage area. Future years will continue to add resources to each topic area and add content more relevant for rural Alaskan communities.
